Our Second Annual
Interfaith Dinner took place at the Konak
Restaurant on October 23, 2005 with
the participation of approximately hundred guests
representing local communities and three speakers
representing Islam, Christianity and Judaism.
The event started with the
Qur'an Recitation from Imam Fatih and was
followed by the dinner.
After the dinner while everyone
was enjoying their dessert
our speakers took the stage. Rabbi Robert Rubbin of
the Congregation Beth Tfillah of Overbrook and
Reverend Arden L. Krych of the Saint Matthew
Lutheran Church both emphasized the importance
of living together. Imam Bekir
Aksoy underscored the common misconceptions
about Islam. All three speakers concluded their
speech by prayers for
the victims of the Hurricanes and Southeast Asia
earthquake.
