“Democratization in Turkey: Issues and Prospects”
A Panel that title is "Democratization in Turkey
Issues and Prospects" organized by the University of Pennsylvania
International Relations Program, Philadelphia Dialog Forum, Turkish Cultural
Center of Pennsylvania and Peace Island Institute, was held at the University
of Pennsylvania on Friday, November 18th, 2011. Guest speakers, Joshua W.
Walker, Hasan Tahsin Aslan, Aydogan Vatandas respectively shared their value
information about the "General Perspective on the Process and Significance
of Turkey’s Democratization"', "Civil-Military Relations and Military
Coups" and "Contemporary Issues in Reference to the Ergenokon
Case". At the end of the Panel, questions were asked to speakers. One of
the questions was "When will Turkey complete the democratization
process". This question was the most attractive one. The speakers hope the
Turkey`s near future and they believed that Turkey will complete this process
within the ten years.
