On Wednesday
October 28th, 2009 Dialogue Forum’s
Women’s Division held its 1st Annual Pink Hope
Fundraising
event.
The event
started off with fundraising. Books,
clothes and food were sold to help
raise money for a local organization: The Linda Creed Breast Cancer
Foundation.
Patricia Bradley, a trainer from the Linda Creed Breast
Cancer Foundation, spoke on behalf of the organization by explaining
what the
Linda Creed Foundation was and its mission. Bradley
also talked
about what breast cancer is, who could get it, why
people get it, what to do to prevent it and how to take care of
yourself after
you have found out you have breast cancer.
LuAnn Cahn, an NBC 10 Investigator, spoke about her life
struggle with breast cancer. She
emphasized to the audience how important it was to do breast self-exams
and to
get mammography testing done.
The night ended with small gifts being presented to the
speakers as well as a raffle drawing , which 3 tickets were chosen.
