Festival of The Sacrifice, Temple University, November 8th 2011

An Eid al-Adha celebration organized by the Rumi Student Association (RSA), the Turkish Student Association (TSA), and the Dialogue Forum.

Eid-ul-Adha, the "festival of the sacrifice," is one of two religious festivals in Islam. The festival commemorates Prophet Abraham's (Peace be Upon him) willingness to sacrifice his son at God's command. Abraham is a highly revered prophet in Islam and is talked about many times throughout the Koran.

Guests were invited to hear a brief history about the celebration while enjoying a tasty, hot lunch made up of some of Turkey's finest delicacies. It was a fun opportunity to learn about a great Islamic religious festival and engage in dialogue with different people. The event was free and open to all.
