Saturday Talk Series- February, 27, 2010

Saturday Brunch Series: Representative Payton On Saturday, February 27th, 2010, Philadelphia Dialogue Forum held its first Saturday lecture event at its new Ashton Road office. The event, which was attended by more than thirty participants from the Turkish community, began with breakfast. Following breakfast, Dr. Yazicioglu, treasurer of Dialogue Forum, gave a welcome speech and introduced State Representative Tony J. Payton.

During his presentation, Rep. Payton talked about his projects and mainly focused on the "Reliable Educational Assistance for College Hopefuls (REACH) program". Rep. Payton stated that, the college dream of thousands of students will become real when the bill related to the program passes. At the end of the talk, participants asked questions and shared their comments about the program.

To show our appreciation, Rep. Payton was given a decorative plate which was designed with original Turkish designs. He also tried Turkish coffee. The event ended with an informal chat between the Dialogue Forum members and Rep. Payton. Participants were very pleased about the event and they stated that they are looking forward to the next one.
