Turkish Cultural Day in Pennsylvania Capitol
Dialogue Forum co-organized an event to introduce Turkish and Anatolian culture to our elected officials at the Capitol. This event took place at the Main Capitol Rotunda on June 28th, 2010. “Turkish Day in Capitol” included small art gallery display, talks from the elected officials, and a reception.
This event took place at the Main Capitol Rotunda. It started at 11 AM and continued till 4 PM. The event included small art gallery display, live music, delicious Turkish food and deserts, talks from the elected officials, and a reception.
The other organizers of this event were Lehigh Dialogue Center, The Red Rose Intercultural and Educational Foundation of Lancaster, Turkish Cultural Center- Pittsburgh, and Turkish American Business Improvement and Development Council (TABID) –Pennsylvania.
Representative Mike Sturla of Lancaster County welcomed the Turkish American community to the state capitol and presented a citation to the Turkish delegation on behalf of the house of representatives.
Ahmet Aydin, Member of the Turkish Grand Assembly accepted the citation and addressed the audience. He spoke about the need for such cultural events that strengthen relations between the U-S and Turkiye.
The non- profit organizations partnered with Hon. Sen. David Argall, Hon. Sen. John Pippy, Hon. Sen. Christine M. Tartaglione, Hon. Rep. Robert Freeman, Hon. Rep. Richard Grucela, Hon. Rep. Tony J. Payton, Jr., and Hon. Rep. P.Michael Sturla as the host committee in organizing this event.
